Indian PM to visit Russia in November
India`s Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will visit Russia in November, an English daily reported here.
According to an Asian Age report, in a telephone conversation on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed preparations for the visit with Singh which is to include a number of bilateral contacts and various-level talks.
The Russian president also wished Dr Singh a happy 75th birthday.
In the year 2000, Russia and India signed a 10-year program on military-technical cooperation, which currently comprises about 13 research and development and production projects.
In 1998, India and Russia established a joint venture, BrahMos Aerospace, to design, develop, produce and market a supersonic cruise missile. Sea-based and land-based versions of the missile have been successfully tested and put into service with the Indian Army and Navy.
