The Gaina: Kiev will continue the dialogue with Russia on the FTA with the EU
Dialogues on the functioning of the free trade area (FTA) between Ukraine and the European Union (EU) will continue at the technical level in the trilateral format with the participation of the Russian Federation, told reporters on Tuesday the Deputy Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine - trade Commissioner Natalia Gaina.

These meetings are expected to take place in the near future and will address the practical aspects of three areas: customs administration, technical barriers to trade and sanitary and phytosanitary measures.
the question of the implementation of the Treaty on the unity is a key in relations between Ukraine and the EU. Kiev has developed a plan whereby the adaptation of European laws to the Ukrainian should be completed by 2017.
The parties also engaged in dialogues about the launch of the FTA in 2016. The problem lies in the concerns of Russia's entry into effect of certain provisions of the FTA and related to fears of an influx of duty free items from the EU through Ukraine. Kiev and the EU are trying to reach a compromise with the Russian side on the issue.
