Russia-Venezuela business forum to hold in Caracas today
Russia-Venezuela business council meets here on Tuesday. The chiefs and top managers of the leading Russian fuel-and-energy companies, such as Gazprom, LUKOIL, Rosneft, TNK-BP, and Tatneft, will take part in the forum.
Prospects for the implementation of joint industrial projects in conjunction with the Venezuelan side will be discussed by executives of the Russian Railways Company, the RUSAL amalgamated company, the Trubnaya (tubing) metallurgical company, the Kazan helicopter manufacturing plant, the Technopromexport foreign-trading organization, and other Russian corporations and enterprises.
Those present at the business forum, which is co-chaired by LUKOIL-Overseas President Andrei Kuzyayev, and Miguel Perez Abad, President of the Venezuela Federation of Industrialists, are to work out proposals with a view to giving greater scope to mutually beneficial trade-and-economic cooperation.
Proposals, which are to be worked out by the business communities of the two countries, are to be brought up for examination by the Russia-Venezuela intergovernmental high-level commission, a session of which is to be held from October 24 to 26 under the co-chairmanship of Russian Vice-Premier Alexander Zhukov and Venezuelan Vice-President Jorge Rodriguez.
