The eighth season of "Game of thrones" will be the last

The eighth season of "Game of thrones" will be the last, HBO confirmed on Saturday. The showrunners of "Game of thrones" David Benioff and Dan Weiss said that the eighth season of the series will be the last.

"Believe me, if I could get them to do more, I'd make them do 10 more seasons," said Weiss. Executive producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss said last month that they would like to stay within 73 hours. That's about 13 episodes in the next two seasons. It is planned that in season 7 of "Game of thrones" will only be 7 episodes instead of 10.

Weiss said still not exactly decided what will be shown in the last 8 season and how many there will be episodes. In addition, he confirmed that the next season can get under Emmy in 2017.

It is obvious that since the "Game of thrones" is one of the most popular series of our time and was awarded the awards on TV, HBO would like the audience to come back to Westeros for years to come. (HBO, like CNN, is a division of Time Warner (TWX).)

But only because the adventures of Tyrion Lannister and Jon snow coming to an end doesn't mean we've seen the end of "Game of thrones" as a whole. When the producer asked if the network is to consider a spin-off for this series, Weiss acknowledged that the management of HBO has "talked about it."
