In Australia a woman diver was attacked by a shark
Off the West coast of Australia on Sunday at the woman diver was attacked by a shark. It was the second shark attack in the last week with a fatal outcome.
The woman was under the water with his 43-year-old partner in a popular place called Mindarie, about 35 km (21 miles) North of Perth, when she was attacked. According to police, the man tried to pull her out of the water after the attack, but she died before they reached the shore.
The inspector General of police of Western Australia Danny Mulligan reported that the partner felt sailed past him, something great just before the attack. "He never saw the shark but felt that it was better to return to the surface," Mulligan told CNN correspondent.
When he surfaced he saw the commotion in the water, and then came a boat to get him out of the water. After the man noticed that the woman received fatal injuries. Mulligan said that three fishermen who were in the boat said they had seen a big shark while helped the couple to get to the surface.
Although the cause of death yet to be confirmed, the Western Australian government confirmed that injuries to women were consistent with a shark attack. "Given the nature of the injuries and location of the incident, it is likely that it was a great white shark more than three meters (about 10 feet) in size," reads the statement on the website of the government.
This is the second fatal shark attack off the West coast of Australia in less than a week.
Ben Gerring, 29-year-old surfer died in hospital on Friday after he lost a leg below the knee. He was attacked by a shark South of the capital of Western Australia in Perth on Tuesday.
Shark attacks in Australia are not uncommon, but only two people died was 33 in attacks across the country in 2015.
