The 26-year-old singer is a huge fan of the R&B star, and would love to work with him. She thinks her retro style would compliment his music, and decided he would be more likely to collaborate with her if she asked him herself.
"Amy personally called Usher after asking her people to get his number," a source explained. "He was shocked to hear some Cockney girl chatting away but finally believed it was Amy when she sang for him."
Amy is hopeful Usherwill work on a track with her, although it is unknown whether the song will be released or will just be featured on her upcoming album. Her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield is also keen for the duet to happen, and has been pestering Amy to ensure the plan doesn-t get forgotten.
Amy`s new record will be her first since 2006`s Back to Black. She is keen to update her sound for the record, and has already asked rappers Snoop Dogg, Nas and Mos Def to work with her.
