Eva Mendes couldn`t wait to work with legendary director Werner Herzog, but was disappointed to find he wasn`t as wacky as she was expecting.
Eva Mendes was disappointed to find the director of her latest movie wasn`t as crazy as she had anticipated. The actress plays a prostitute in The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans, Werner Herzog`s remake of the 1992 crime drama.
The maverick director is famed for his crazy antics and controversial themes, once demanding a 320-tonne steamer be pulled up a mountain for the sake of a movie. His latest offering features phantom iguanas and an impersonation of Richard III but Eva says she was expecting Werner to be even crazier than he was.
"I was disappointed because he wasn`t as crazy as I thought he`d be," the star told British magazine Total Film. Eva also revealed that she always looks for obscure roles to play as she doesn`t want to be typecast.
"I`m constantly looking for dark and flawed women to pay. Characters who are trying to find their way in life are much more interesting," she added.
