The actress has six-year-old son Roman with her husband Daniel Zelman, and sometimes struggles to keep up with him. She mentioned this to her actress friend Mariska Hargitay, who immediately suggested she completed a cleanse to rid her body of toxins.
"Mariska sent me this book called Clean, and said `You`ve got to do this. I feel great!` And I just did it two months ago and I feel really strong. I`ve got so much energy," Debra enthused. "It`s just a deep detox with lots of organic smoothies, vegetables, fruits, and just a regular normal healthy meal at lunch time. [There`s] also lots of lemon water and garlic - everything that you know is good for you."
Debra likes the detox as it is still healthy and doesn`t ban solid food altogether. She says it is perfect as although she knows the kind of food she should be eating, it can be hard to steer clear of treats if she is craving them.
The 41-year-old has lost 42lbs since giving birth to Roman, and says getting back in shape was a slow process. Since her son has got older she has found it easier to keep toned as he is so active.
"He`s so into sports right now. I honestly can`t keep up with him," she told People magazine`s Moms & Babies section. "He loves handball, basketball, soccer, and softball. [I play] all of them."
