The Hollywood actress wed concert producer Simone Sestito in a private church in Vatican City, Italy, yesterday. The couple have not released details of the nuptials, but it is known they held a private reception outside the city following the nuptials.
"The ceremony was truly unique and Mena looked breathtaking," a guest told People magazine. "They are very much in love."
The actress wore a gown created by Stacey Bendet, owner of Alice + Olivia, who she is good friends with.
Mena, 31, and Simone, 25, decided to marry in Vatican City as many of his family live nearby. Mena confirmed the ceremony would be held in Italy in March, saying she wanted the wedding to be "very romantic and traditional Italian...we`ll have at least a couple hundred guests".
The couple met at the Toronto Film Festival in 2007, with Simone popping the question the following year. "We just understood each other," Simone said at the time. "She`s very caring and understanding. There was a connection."
This is Mena`s second marriage. She wed cinematographer Robert Brinkmann in 2000, but they divorced five years later.
