Travie McCoy recorded a rap for Cheryl Cole
The Gym Class Heroes frontman worked on a track, `Yeah Yeah`, for the British pop singer`s new album, but while he is a big fan of the singer, he never got to meet her when recording his section of the song.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "It`s cool. I do the second verse. I rap and sing. It`s definitely a more dancey track, it`ll be in the clubs and have a f***ing a**load of remixes.
"It was fun. I love the song, it came out great. It was one of those email situations. We are both so busy, so it was too tough for me to get over there and record it in the flesh."
The `Cupid`s Chokehold` singer`s new song `We`ll Be Alright` is released next week, which samples UK band Supergrass`s 1995 single `Alright`, and he also said he`s always been a fan of British music and championed it throughout his career.
Speaking about Supergrass, he said: "It`s cool to pay homage to them. When Gym Class Heroes first came over here I got into the Arctic Monkeys and took it over to the US and told everybody it was brilliant. Then it was Jamie T, Amy Winehouse, Muse.
"I`m currently putting everyone on to Plan B in the US. Everyone I`ve given a copy to loves it."
Travie`s solo album `Lazarus` is out now.
