Russian army loses 20,8 thousands of officers in 2006
38.3 thousands of servicemen-contractors will leave the service in 2006, Ministry of Defense informs. These figures include 20.8 thousands of officers and 15.5 thousands of soldiers, sailors, sergeants, sergeant-major which served on a contract no less than 5 years.
Thus flow-out of officers will decrease almost on third part comparing with 2004 and 2005. In 2004 33 thousands of officers left the service of army and Navy, and in 2005 - 30 thousands.
From them 6.6 thousands of people will leave the service on reaching of corresponding age. 4.8 thousands will go because of organization-regular arrangements, 4 thousand - because contract time is up and 5.4 thousands because of health state.
About 14.2 thousands of officers who will leave the service of Russian army in 2006 are at the age of 40. At present time 65% of Russian officers are people at the age of 35 and older.
