KIEV, November 4 - Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko on Saturday met with a delegation of the non-commercial organization International Crisis Group (ICG), including with well-known American patron, multimillionaire George Soros, who is a member of the group, head of the presidential secretariate Oleg Rybachuk told a briefing on Saturday without disclosing the topic of the meeting.
Commenting on the arrival of Soros in Kiev, political expert Dmitry Ponamarchuk said that the multimillionaire "is concerned over the inevitable fiasco of the Yushchenko party at the parliamentary elections in March 2006." "Soros feels that the situation is going out of control," Ponamarchuk said, recalling that Soros supported Yushchenko at the presidential elections.
Leader of the Ukrainian party Bratstvo Dmitry Korchinsky said that Soros arrived in Kiev with reinforced guarding. "He remembers that during the latest visit, activists of our party strewed him with mayonnaise. However, this time we don-t prepare a special meeting for him," he told journalists.
