New Moscow club to experience euphoria
The Tsifrograd festival is scheduled to take place on Nov. 11 in a series of clubs across town.
The night is set to kick off with Paolo Mojo manning the decks at Fabrique. The action will then move to Club XIII?s dancefloor with mix-master Jose Nunez. Rounding out the evening will be a double bill at Gaudi Arena with music by Best Lost and the main man of the festival - Phil Hartnoll of Orbital fame.
Opening Nov. 12 on Slavanskaya Ploshchad in Kitai-Gorod is the new disco-cafe Sorry, Babushka. According to the organizers, the club is named after the youth slang term used when experiencing euphoria resulting from "active forms of relaxation, dancing and hot beverages." The club promises to be free of unnecessary pomposity, fake smiles and imitation - attracting a democratic mix of students, young professionals and foreigners based in Moscow.
The musical offerings are to include more than just the latest DJ tunes, with live concerts from various musical periods and genres. Also on the bill: stand-up comedy, art performances and exhibitions are planned. Booked to play on opening night is Tony Martin, ex-singer of Black Sabbath.
