HERE`S the first look at Madonna`s latest stab at being a movie director.
W.E. - starring James D`Arcy, Andrea Risborough and Abbie Cornish - is set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival, which begins tomorrow.
Switching back and forth between the 1930s and `90s, the film centres on lonely New Yorker Wally (Abbie Cornish), who is obsessed with the love affair of Edward VIII and American divorcee Wallis Simpson six decades earlier.
But as her research deepens, she discovers that the romance which led to Edward`s abdication was not as perfect as she thought.
Ahead of the release, snaps from the film show Risborough and D`Arcy looking spookily similar to the controversial couple.
W.E. was filmed in Buckinghamshire, London, Paris and New York and marks the second time Madge, 53, has gone behind the camera.
Her first movie as a director, Filth And Wisdom, was released in 2008 and made just £14,000 at the US box office.
It never went on general release in the UK. W.E. is due for release on December 9.
