Chelsea Handler blames her TV show for the demise
The 37-year-old talk show host never wanted to watch `Chelsea Lately` after returning home from work, much to the disappointment of NBC Broadcasting chairman and former E! Entertainment Television chief Ted Harbert, who she split from in January 2010 after almost four years together.
She explained: "I would come home from work, and Ted would be like, `Do you want to watch your show?` and `?d be like, `No, I just came from my show. That`s the last thing I`d want to do.`
"That was the reason it didn`t work out, ultimately. I think."
Chelsea - who is now dating hotelier Andre Balazs - admitted she usually prefers not to talk about her personal life in order to maintain her professional "relevance".
She told the September issue of America`s Marie Claire magazine: "I`m definitely worried about maintaining my relevance and not wanting to go too far out of bounds to accommodate someone else."
However, the funnywoman insists she doesn`t feel she has to act in a certain way to get ahead with her career.
She said: "I don`t like to be that aggressive or ambitious. I know it doesn`t seem like that, but I don`t feel like, `Oh God, I`ve got to do this, I`ve got to do that.` I have severe ADD, and I`m constantly looking to amuse myself."
