China repairs damage to Russia for pollution of Amur water
China must repair damage to Russia in case if polluted waters of Sungari river will impair ecology of Amur.
This was announced by vice-rector of judicial department of Shanghai transport University Wang Xi.
"If Russian part of water system will be infected, China will take the responsibility and compensate caused damage", - considers Chinese professor.
"Amount and form of compensation must be determined during negotiations of sides", - he stated.
According to international regulations, every country can use water resources in its opinion but it has no right to pollute water channels, which supply water to neighboring countries.
"Russia and China have to conduct mutual tests and find out an actual volume of pollution", - noted the expert.
In Chine administration of chemical plant will answer for consequences of accident, which caused leak of toxic compounds. This is the opinion of ecological expert Wang Canfa.
"According to current legislation, against people, guilty in accident and their director, legal proceedings can be instituted. Maximum punishment is 7 years of imprisonment", - announced Wang Canfa.
After information that company has to cover expenses of pollution liquidation, shares of PetroChina fell by 2.4% at New-York stock exchange. PetroChina company is the largest oil producing company in Chinese People`s republic.
