China promised Russia to indemnify for poisoning Amur
The head of Russian federal agency of water sources Rustem Khamitov informed China promised to indemnify for Amur poisoning.
Giving a broadcast talk on "Mayak" Khamitov said he received a letter from Chinese ministry of water industry and Chinese country "begs to be excused for the incident" and "exerts every effort to minimize a patch of pollution on approach to Russian territory", and "offers help".
Moreover according to Khamitov Chinese country admits it "is responsible and is going to pay damages of Russian country".
China delivered the equipment for monitoring the condition of water in Amur earlier. The official representative of Chinese Foreign Ministry Lu Tzjanchao told about that. The diplomat said also Chinese country "will make everything necessary to provide for Russian citizens security", who might suffer from chemical pollution of water.
As a result of the accident on chemical factory in China about 100 tons of benzene compounds were thrown to the river Sungari - the right inflow of the river Amur which is the source of drinking water for Khabarovsk.
Oleg Mitvol said now there are enough water supply sources in Khabarovsk which are not connected with Amur. He said the situation in Khabarovsk is under officials? control.
