Hurricane in Kamchatka
Atmospheric vortex which had clashed with polar anticyclone has provoked sudden raise in temperature at all districts of peninsula.
The air temperature on coasts raised by 5-10 degrees, in central districts - by 10-15 degrees and reached positive values. Gusts of hurricane provoked by cyclone reached a record speed for the last ten years in Kamchatka: 47 m/s or 170 km/h. There are now heavy showers or blizzards in most of districts.
Moreover the eruption of volcano Bezymyanniy started.
A member of a crew of salvage ship "Alagez" torn off from a pier became a victim of hurricane, a source informed RIA "Novosti".
The ship was in a bay Ilyichev near submariners? settlement Zavoiko, near Petropavlovsk. Hurricane?s gusts tore mooring. One of ropes tore off and hit a boatswain Fyodor Ryl. He died of wounds.
Meanwhile military authorities did not confirm or denied officially this information, "Interfax" informs. The ship is now drifting in a bay Avachinsky.
According to hydremeteorological service in Kamchatka wind speed mounts to 110 km/h in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski where about 60% of region population lives. No one can stand upright with such wind speed. Wind can knock you down at a speed of 35 m/s but you may "lie" on wind.
According to weather forecasters the main peak of bad weather falls at 1-2 December when atmospheric vortex interacts with powerful polar anticyclone. Unfortunately the bad weather is going to last more than 4 days. Storm warning was transmitted to all special services of life support and the fleet in Sea of Okhotsk and Bering Sea.
