Holland cheetah feels uncomfortable in Moscow
There is an addition in the zoo - after long period Moscowers can look at the fastest animal on the planet. The female of cheetah was imported from Holland to the capital of Russia. Workers of the zoo say that Moscow public is very loud and the predator does not feel comfortable yet.
There were not any cheetahs in the Moscow zoo since 2003. Previous inhabitants of this open-air cage died the age of 18 years and that is extreme old age. Then right away talks about young animals began with Holland center of rearing. It required more than year to register all necessary documents. And now two-years-old spotty beauty named Vinda arrived to Moscow by special flight. "She withstood the trip very well and then she was in quarantine during one month. This is our rule - all animals should be in quarantine" - says press secretary of Moscow zoo Elena Mendosa. - "Now she moved to the wonderful open-air cage and awaits for suiter".
Zoologists plan to create a group of cheetahs and receiving posterity. But first of all Vinda should become accustomed to her cage and neighbors. And Moscowers make her nervous after staid Dutch public.
Wilful foreigner does not allow to come near even workers of the zoo and does not react to the new name Veterok. Maybe she does not understand Russian yet. However adaptation to climate and food goes well. Vinda as normal wild cat prefers chicken.
