More than 40 poisoned children hospitalized in Chechnya
45 children with symptoms of poisoning are hospitalized to Chechen hospitals by present time.
"There are 24 people in Shelkovsky regional hospital, 2 people - in 9-th city hospital pf Groznyy, 19 people - in republican children clinical hospital", - informed in press-service of Southern regional center of Emergency Ministry.
Hospitalized children live in 4 settlements - Kobi, Shelkozavodskaya, Shelkovskaya and Staroglazovskaya. All have similar symptoms - weakness, asphyxia, and headache. By tentative data, the cause of disease is not food - none of children ate in school canteen. Moreover, symptoms are the characteristics of poisoning by toxic compounds of neuroparalytic and psychotropic actions. But precise diagnose can be established only after results of analyses will be received.
"All children have pronounced fits of fear. They are lack of air and short of breath. They also demonstrate symptoms of psychosis. All attacks last less than 20 minutes", - said the head doctor of republican children clinical hospital Sultan Alimkhadjiev.
By his words, blood of 5 sick children was sent to Makhachkala on Tuesday morning.
"The causes of disease are still unknown. It is early to talk about terrorist action, but all versions are taken into consideration", - said the prosecutor of Chechnya Valery Kuznetsov.
Administration of Shelkovsky district of Chechnya has decided to let pupils on New Year school holidays 2 days earlier. As the head of presidential apparatus and Chechen government Vasily Boriskin informed, numerous committees attend schools every day. "In such conditions there are no opportunities for effective studies. Therefore, state committee agreed with request of local administration to start holidays 2 days earlier", - said Boriskin.
