Galileo satellite successfully orbited
First satellite of European global positioning system Galileo was orbited to calculated orbit by means of Russian rocket carrier "Souz-FG".
Navigational spacecraft GIOVE A detached from acceleration unit "Fregat" at appointed time and at 12:01 by Moscow time got on circle orbit, at the height of 23 thousands km and inclination being 56 degrees.
Russian rocket carrier with satellite was launched at 8:19 a.m. by Moscow time from Baikonur cosmodrome.
