Flu epidemic to outbreak in Russia after January 20
Flu epidemic is to outbreak in Russia after January 20, said Russian chief sanitary inspector Gennady Onischenko.
According to the data as of January 5, no epidemic threshold has been exceeded on the territory of Russian Federation, noted Onischenko.
"2005 is over, so now it is possible to say that there was no flu epidemic in autumn-winter period. There were several activations of decease incidence, but epidemic threshold was exceeded", - reported the chief sanitary.
Meanwhile, flu specialist Yury Gendon recommends to get vaccinated in the nearest time. Vaccination is the most effective mean of disease prevention. The level of protection from the decease constitutes 80%. For people with weaker immunity it constitutes 50%, however, the risk of complications is still 80% lower, and the risk of lethal outcome is 90 % lower.
