Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko considers that the situation in Ukraine cannot be resolved without the participation of Russia and its interests.
" Today, it was already confirmed that to settle the situation in Ukraine without taking into account the wishes of Russia, without the participation of Russia is impossible. For this reason, I dream that will prevail pragmatic approach, common sense in establishing, developing interaction between the 2 neighbouring States, between 2 fraternal peoples, " she said on air of television channel once the Federation Council cancelled the decision on use of Russian armed forces in Ukraine.
