USA accused Russian adoption agency in swindle
American Office of public prosecutor has brought an action against owner of adoption firm and 2 ex-workers, accused in swindle: they took money from potential adoptive parents without further rendering assistance in adoption. On Monday court ordered to close site of company-middleman "Unona".
Authorities demand the head of company Ivan Zherdev and workers Nika Sims and Alex Nikolenko to make full restitution in amount of more than $1.5 millions to victims. Company cheated more than 10 pairs of adoptive parents.
Prosecutors insist that providing of false information and conclusion of treaties on its base were intentional.
Zherdev supposedly escaped to Russia, where he can open analogous company under new name. Worker Sims insists that he was discharged in November and therefore is not related to swindle. Location of Nikolenko is unknown.
