110 children evacuated from frozen village in Komi
Criminal proceedings were instituted by fact of energy supplying system breakdown in Eletsky settlement (Komi republic).
As first vice-prosecutor of Komi republic Nikolai Basmanov informed, criminal proceedings were instituted by Vorkuta Office of Prosecutor according to article 193 (negligence) of Russian Criminal Code. Republican Office of Prosecutor will be in charge of the case.
He also said that 100 children were evacuated from Eletsky. "This measure was taken in order not to affect studies. Adult citizens refused to leave houses. There is no threat to their lives and health at present moment", - noted Basmanov.
By his words, heat supply is being repaired in Eletsky. "Today there is enough equipment and workers. By evening or tomorrow morning terms of heat supply restoration will be announced", - added Basmanov.
At night on January 14 reserve diesel generator, supplying boiler-house, got out of action because of sharp decrease of temperature. As a result heat and water supplies to 42 apartment houses, kindergartens, boarding school, building of local administration, railway station and other objects were cut off. Moreover, electric main ruptured.
