Mitvol is going to flood cottages on the bank of Moscow-river
Rosprirodnadzor found the solution for the problem of constructions built without permission. If owners will not demolish them themselves, the water will do it after sluice be opened.
Deputy of the head of Rosprirodnadzor Oleg Mitvol said that there were carried out analysis of water in Moscow-river. "The river is extremely polluted. Here and there the concentration of oil products is higher that maximum concentration limit by tens."
Mitvol said: "There is an old method of rectification - the increase of level of water in river by opening sluices." He noted also that such preventive measure took place routinely in Soviet times, but then it ended because banks of Moscow-river were illegally built up with summer cottages.
"The reason of this discussion is that all jobs on rectification we planned to make in spring 2006, so the owners of constructions that were built without permission have half a year to clean banks and save their property themselves. Otherwise these houses will disappear and there will be excellent building materials for countrymen of lower villages", - said Mitvol.
He specified that rectification of Moscow-river "will cost nothing because all we need is to open sluices."
As informational Regnum says the decision by rectification of Moscow-river was made by the heads of Rosprirodnadzor and Rosvodresursi on 10 October 2005. The head of Rosvodresursi Rustem Hamitov and deputy of the head of Rosprirodnadzor Oleg Mitvol discussed the details of future operation on the special conference.
