Russian skier excluded from participation in Olympic Games
The International Federation of Skiing (FIS) excluded 8 sportsmen from participation in Olympiad in Torino for 5 days.
Among excluded skiers are Russian sportswoman Natalia Matveeva, Belarus athletes Sergey Dolidevich and Alexander Lazutkin, Americans Ciccan Rendell and Leaf Zimmerman, Canadian Shone Crooks, French Jan Mark Galyar and German Eve Sahenbacher.
As FIS has informed, the issue of participation of these sportsmen, who have increased level of hemoglobin in blood, will be settled within 5 days.
By data of FIS representatives 224 skiers were tested for doping this week. There were no other comments form representatives of federation.
In case the tests are true, the incident will become the first doping scandal during winter Olympic Games in Torino.
