Exhibition "Church and sacred revival of Russia" to open in Paris
The exhibition "The church and sacred revival of Russia" opens in Paris in the congress-centre of the headquarters of UNESCO on Monday.
"Russian culture and spirituality always caused interest in French people and the interconnections of our two countries have old history. We remember as in the years of revolution, befallen to our country in the beginning of XX century, the hospitable France became the shelter for many Russian refugees, and this helped to preserve the Russian culture" noted the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Aleksy II in the turning to organizers and participants of the exhibition.
Action is timed to the anniversary of the Trekhsvyatitelskoye podvorye in Paris, the cathedral temple Korsunskaya diocese, uniting the parishes and communities of Moscow patriarchy in five West European countries (France, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Switzerland). In February of this year the Russian Orthodox Church celebrates the 75th anniversary from the day of the foundation of this center of Russian orthodoxy in France.
In the opening ceremony of the exhibition the chairman of the department of external church connections of Moscow patriarchy metropolitan Smolenskiy and Kaliningrad Kiril, archbishop Korsunskiy Innocent and the head of publishing council archpriest Vladimir Silovev will participate.
The exhibition is prepared by publishing council and the museum of the history of Moscow city together with the Korsunskaya diocese (France).
