Austria refused to Ukraine in the reverse gas
Austrian oil and gas company OMV will not perform reverse gas to Ukraine at the expense of supplies of the main partners. This was stated by the head of the firm Gerhard Roiss.
"Even if we have the opportunity to fulfill short term more marginal delivery to other buyers, we this will not do," said Ross at a press conference. Thus he commented on the question of whether the firm headed by him to deliver gas to Ukraine. Besides, the head of OMV noted the importance of realization of the project "South stream". According to the statement Rossa, the construction of a gas pipeline bypassing Ukraine will contribute to ensuring energy security of Austria namely the EU in General.
President OMV dwelled upon the issue of possible blocking the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine. He told me that in the course of such danger. "But I see that it is virtually impossible scenario. Gazprom is doing everything to fulfill your own promises. Taken friendly measures in the framework of diversification of supplies," said Ross.
on 16 June the Gazprom transferred "Naftogaz of Ukraine" on the regime of pre-payment for gas supplies. This decision of the leadership of the Russian gas concern was a response to the repeated delay of payments by Naftogaz. Debt of Ukrainian companies for already delivered gas reached almost $ 4.5 billion.
In response, Kiev came to the agreement with some countries of Europe on gas supplies in reverse mode. In early summer of Ukraine proposed EU to start reverse gas via Slovakia. But the Chairman of the Board of Gazprom Alexei Miller said that the holding may limit the supply of gas to European firms, if those will be engaged in reverse to Ukraine.
