Armenia to pay twice higher price for Russian gas
From April 1 the price of imported Russian gas will rise to $110 for 1000 cubic meters in Armenia.
This was informed by press-secretary of Armenian company ArmRosgasprom.
Russian newspapers wrote earlier that being closest Russian ally in Transcaucasia Armenia hoped for light price politics of Russian "Gazprom" - "energetic weapon" of Kremlin. But these hopes were not justified.
"On Tuesday we will address to Commission on public services regulation, which will establish new tariffs for consumers", - informed Armenian side.
This measure may be avoided if Russian and Armenian sides will reach agreements around compensation scheme during negotiations, which are still running.
45% of shares of ArmRosgasporm - gas importer of Armenia - are owned by Armenian government and 10% - by Itera company. The gas is imported through territory of Georgia, which faced with irregularity in Russian gas import service this year because of pipeline breakdown in North Caucasus.
