The Federal fishery Agency and Ministry of agriculture to prohibit canned fish and processed fish products from Europe, the United States, Norway and Canada.
Earlier, Russia had already restricted the importation of food products from countries which used punishment against Moscow. With all this canned seafood under the cap not included.
Deputy agriculture Minister Ilya Shestakov stated that the Russian Federation has proposed the Ministry of agriculture to ban the import of canned fish and seafood. "We go on to argue that there is such a possibility. Moreover, the products of deep processing we produce in abundance, except not very large product range. It was also suggested that a similar ban will eliminate the resulting discrimination of the Russian manufacturers. For the following reasons in consequence entered punishments they faced a number of problems in the supply of foreign raw materials, however strict competition with ready-made foreign products are preserved.
At the same time, the supply of fry (smalt) from Norway to the Russian aquaculture, on the contrary will allow. In-1-x - they are not considered food, and domestic salmon farm is directly dependent on the supply of smolts and feed from the Norwegian side. But if the feed for salmon sanctions did not affect cargo smolts last Monday was passed by the Russian customs.
The Deputy Minister told that the root cause of a number of plants of the Northwest region may be problems associated with lack of raw materials. The problem he sees is to refocus on domestic raw materials that can be recycled. Besides all this he told that both departments have organized the forecast tariffs from the manufacturer, to avoid the increase. The Federal Agency for fishery and agriculture Department expect to propose to the government to induce transport of fish from the Far East to the Central part of Russia.
"You want to significantly improve logistics fish as possible using subsidized, and through the implementation of priority for fish goods coming from the Far East, in the transport corridors. In other words, the transport of fish will need to pass in the Central powers in the first place," said Shestakov.
