Sailing vessel "Krusenstern" covers half of way of sail round the world
Entrance to American port Honolulu indicated the half of the circumnavigation of the famous Russian Sailing vessel "Krusenstern", Baltic State Academy has informed today.
The trip started on June 16 last year from the home port in Kalinigrad. The circumnavigation is dedicated to 60th anniversary of the Great Victory and to 200th anniversary of circumnavigation of Russian vessels under Ivan Krusenstern command.
For eight and a half month the sailing vessel covered 20 thousand nautical miles and touched at ports of 12 countries. Its crew consists of cadets of Russian sea high schools and colleges, which mastering future specialities on practice, and scientists, making researches on board.
After having rest and refilling of stock in Honolulu "Krusenstern" will move to Vladivostok and further according to the plan - to China, Australia, the SAR, Spain.
The sail round the world will be finished in St.Petersburg in August.
