Central Electoral Commission to hold seminar for parties withdrawn from election
Central Electoral Commission will organize special meeting for parties withdrawn from election to local legislative assemblies, which will be held on March 12 in 8 Russian regions. This was announced by the head of CEC Aleksandr Veshnyakov, who noted that record number of parties may be withdrawn from election this year.
In particular, Electoral Commission of Nizhegorodksaya oblast cancelled registration of 6 movements, including "Patriots of Russia" and "Agrarian party". The decision of local Electoral Commission was supported by court. "Rodina" party was withdrawn from pre-electoral campaign in all regions, except of Adygei.
"It is important to analyze jurisdiction of these decisions and objections of electoral commissions. Certain conclusions should be drawn", - said Veshnyakov. In his opinion, parties are refused in registration on the basis of violations they paid no attention to. These common mistakes will be discussed during summer meeting.
