World League-2006 to be held in Russia
Final of basketball World league will take place in Yekaterinburg next year.
As Russian Federation of basketball president Sergey Chernov announced, according to agreement between RFB and European department FIBA, tournaments of basketball World league among women will be held in Russia for 2 more years.
In 2006 8 teams will compete in Samara and Yekaterinburg. Chernov added that "World league organizers are disappointed that American women team will not participate in tournament second year in a row. There is an agreement to negotiate with women NBA representatives".
World league of basketball among women teams was held in 2004 for the first time. Samara VBM-SGAU second year became winners of this tournament. Before that team from Samara won FIBA World Cup in 2003.
