Scientists have found in Siberia ancestor of man

Another sensational statement was made by English scientists. Paleontologists from Oxford assure that the ancient fish, the remains of which were found on the Putorana plateau in Siberia Russian scientists in 1972, was considered the original creature with indicators of cartilaginous and bony fishes, and is claimed to be the forefather of all maxillary animals, even humans.

Even more striking than the announcement about the new fish human ancestor found in Siberia, is the fact that it is a scientific study was published in the prestigious journal Nature. As they say in the article, employees of the Oxford Institute made the discovery by accident. Ancient fish, whose age is 415 million years, they saw in the online catalogue of the fossils in the spring of 2014. There it has added staff Tallinn Institute of Geology, where the remains of ancient fish stored since 1972.

"This fossil has given us an enticing glimpse into the fish Kingdom, when the modern group of vertebrates began to stand on his feet in an evolutionary sense. She told us that the forefather of all maxillary animals, probably has little to fit in the currently available views about his appearance," said 1 of the authors of the open Matt Friedman of the Oxford Institute.

As it turns out, was found in Siberia creature is not related to a simple ray-finned fishes and cartilaginous, which belong to sharks and rays. With all of this, other features of the anatomy of the Siberian fish, the structure of the jaws and some bones make it almost indistinguishable from bony. Because witty English scientists have nicknamed the discovery of two-faced Janus - Janusiscus schultzei.

1st fish appeared on Earth during the Cambrian period, approximately 510 million years ago. They were not aware of the jaws and developed fins, which were "invented" the evolution only after 100 million years, in the early Devonian. Quite a long time scientists believed that the 1st jaw fish were more like sharks than on our own modern relatives, which was indicated the remains of the so-called Caucasoid fish, however now these hypotheses are subjected to doubt.
