Biography Wertheimer (Wetrheimer) Max
(15.04.1880, Prague - 12.10.1943, New York) - German psychologist, founder of Gestalt. In 1912, Mr.. a pilot study of the phenomenon of apparent movement, initiating the Gestalt. Explains it by using the principle of physiological and psychological isomorphism: the apparent motion is a subjective evidence that the brain occurred physiological 'short circuit'. Since 20-ies. began using the method of 'thinking aloud' (in the dialogue with the experimenter) to study the stages of thinking. Also involved in the problems of musical perception, the psychology of 'primitive peoples', parapsychology. Known to develop 'lie detector'.
