. Father - a land surveyor, appraiser and his mother - from a family of impoverished Polish landowner.
. Studied in Orel classical gymnasium (1882-91), Faculty of Law, St. Petersburg and Moscow University (he graduated last in 1897 a candidate of rights).
. Assistant lawyer of the Moscow court district (from 1897), played defender in court
. The court reporter for the Moscow Gazette and a member of the Courier, in which latter also headed the fictional department (since 1901). Member OLRS (January 1903).
Was fond of painting. Exhibited in St. Petersburg on the "Exhibition of Independent" (1913).
The literary debut - the story "In the cold and gold" (w. Zvezda ", 1892, N 16).
His works were published in the "Star", "Orel Gazette", "Moscow Gazette", "Courier", "Journal for all", "leaflet Nizhny Novgorod", "Life", "Russian wealth, w. "True," "The Morning of Russia's gas. "Truth", "modern world", "Monthly Journal" and t. d.
The first volume of short stories came out in the St. Petersburg publishing house "Knowledge" in September 1901 (the means п?.п?. Gorky).
