Victor Baryakhtar

Born August 30, 1930 in g. Mariupol (Ukraine). Father - Bar'yakhtar Grigory Fedorovich (1903 - 1081 gg.). Mother - Paranichev Anna D. (1906 - 1978 gg.). Son - Igor (1956. born.). Daughter - Irina (1965. born.).

He received higher education in the physics department of Leningrad University (1948 - 1951 gg.). Then was trained in graduate school at the Department of Nuclear Physics, Physics and Mathematics Faculty of Kharkov University (1951 - 1953 gg.). In 1959 he defended his thesis for a Ph.D. degree in Physics and Mathematics in the field of theoretical physics (1959). In 1965 he defended his doctoral dissertation and Institute of Metal in g. Sverdlovsk. He worked at the Kharkov Physico-Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1954 - 1973), . where he was professor of Solid State Physics (1962 - 1972); Donetsk Physico-Technical Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1973 - 1982), a member of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1982 - 1989),
. He is currently vice-president of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (since 1989). During the years of scientific activities conducted numerous studies in the field of magnetic properties of solids, superconductivity, and mechanical properties of solids, nonlinear phenomena in solids. Is also involved in research on problems of safe operation of nuclear power plants, environmental problems. By many experts (candidates and doctors). Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, academician of the Academy of Art, Academy of Technological Academy of Ukraine, academician of the Academy of Environment of Ukraine, the founder and honorary member of the Ukrainian Physical Society and a member of the Italian Physical Society and a member of the International Union of mathematical physics,
. He was awarded the Order of Red Banner of Labor (1971); Order of Lenin (1986), Honorary Emblem of the President of Ukraine (1995); two medals. Winner of two State Prizes of Ukraine for Science (1972, 1986), three Awards of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. He is fond of history. He likes classical music.
