Biography Nicholas Levinovsky
Born in Saratov. His professional experience in jazz began in the late 60's. After he graduated from Saratov State Conservatory, he worked as musical director and arranger in the most famous jazz orchestras in Moscow.
In 1978. Nick founded his own ensemble "Allegro", quickly won fame and all-Union for a decade who was one of the leading in terms of creative jazz bands of the former USSR. Efforts to make Levinovsky ensemble jazz in the form of art had been rewarded by the, . that the "Allegro" was named "Best jazz ensemble of the USSR", . and Nicholas himself four times was named "Musician of the Year" in annual surveys of Soviet jazz critics,
