Biography Montalvo, Juan (Juan Montalvo)
In 1857-60 the diplomatic service in Paris and Rome. As a result of open opposition to the dictatorship of Mr.. Garcia Moreno was forced to emigrate (Colombia, Peru, France), where the ideological head of the liberal opposition to dictatorial governments acting to protect Indians. Master of combat journalism and polemical style. Anti-government newspaper published a leaflet "Cosmopolitan" (1866-69), against corruption, despotism, war against the church. Major works: labor "Permanent dictatorship" (1874), a collection of philosophical essays, "Seven Treatises (1882), a collection of satirical essays," Katilinarii "(1882-83)," moral geometry "(ed. 1902), as well as the drama "Leper", "Khara", "The Dictator" (published. 1935).
