Biography Aristophanes
Aristophanes was born in Attica in the deme Kidafine approximately 448 g. BC. BC), a wealthy family. Philip, the father of Aristophanes, owned plot of land on the island of Aegina.
Aristophanes was kleruhom - Athenian colonists on the island of Aegina. One of the inscription at the beginning of IV. mentions his name as a member of the Council of Five Hundred pritanov (duty) phylum Pandionidy.

The last of the extant works, the comedy "Wealth", was delivered to them in 388 g. BC. Then he wrote another comedy "Coca" and "Eolosikon, but they have been delivered after the death of his son Aristophanes Arar (all he had 3 sons, and all three - comedy).
Died Aristophanes in approximately 385 - 380 g. BC.
Total Aristophanes wrote more than 40 comedies, but up to now remained only eleven:
