Biography Andrusov Nikolai Ivanovich
Born in 1861 in Odessa. He studied at the Novorossiysk University. On behalf of the St. Petersburg Society of Naturalists traveled to Mangyshlak and Ust-yurt. In 1890, defended his master's thesis, he became assistant professor of Novorossiysk University in 1896 - a professor of Tartu in 1904 - the University of Kiev. In 1897 he defended his doctoral thesis: "Living and fossil Dreissenidae Eurasia, for which the Academy of Sciences awarded him (1908), the Lomonosov Prize. He made research trips to the Black, Caspian and Azov seas, in Shemakhin county, Abkhazia, the Kuban region, Romania.
