Biography Auseklis Michael (Krogzem)
(1850 - 1879), poet-patriot, so-called nationalist novolatyshskogo literary period, the compiler of folk hymns, folklorist and expert in Latvian folk poetry. Studied in Valka Teachers' Seminary, in St. Petersburg. taught in secondary schools in May and Wiedemann. His "Dzejolu krajums" ed. in 1873 and 1875 was a member of the Latvian "Bulletin of the Baltic". - See. his biography and the collected works "Ausekla raksti", ed. David Kazhok-Pelttsom (Riga, 1889).
