Biography Ballion Ernest Ernestovich
Born in St. Petersburg on Nov. 18, 1816, received his early education in the Reformed College, after which (1833) spent many years of private teaching, which led him to Kazan. Here he is in the late forties entered the university and after graduating in 1852 defined a teacher of natural sciences in the 2 nd Kazan Gymnasium. In 1860 he was appointed associate professor in Gorygoretsky agricultural institute. With the transfer of the institution in 1865 in St. Petersburg B. became the first lecturer, then professor at the agricultural institute in St. Petersburg (in forest), and finally Professor of Forest Institute. At the present time is a retired. B. belonged to the following works: "General botany" (h. I, Kazan, 1857), "The experience of research on Russian names and vulgar book of mammals, leading within the Russia Empire" (Kazakh, 1858) and a number of private research in entomology in Russia, placed in the "Bulletin de la soc. Imp. des naturalistes de Moscou "(1855 - 88). (Note: he died in 1901).
