Biography Henryk Wieniawski I. (Wieniawski)
(1835 - 1880). He studied at the Paris Conservatoire. Together with his brother Joseph (piano) gave concerts in St. Petersburg and Moscow with great success. In 1860, Mr.. invited soloist with orchestra in St. Petersburg Imperial Theaters; in 1862. invited professor of violin playing in the newly opened St. Petersburg Conservatory, often performed in concerts and headed a quartet of the Russian Musical Society (Wieniawski, Pickel, Weinmann, Davydov). In 1872 - 74 years committed artistic journey across America. The last time Wieniawski played in Russian concert in Paris during the World Exposition 1878. Wieniawski was one of the greatest violinists of the XIX century, he had an amazing technique, extremely melodious, beautiful tone and fiery, exciting performance. As a composer, Wieniawski different great taste and originality. His writings, the best in the virtuoso violin literature, are extremely grateful for the execution. Chief among them: two concerts with the accompaniment of the orchestra, "The Legend", "Polonaise de concert", three mazurkas. - See. A. Desfossez "Henri Wieniawski" (Gaga, 1856).
