Biography VOROBEVA Anna Yakovlevna
(1816 - 1901). Her talent was not appreciated immediately, at first it was adopted only in the chorus. But the conductor KA. Kavos (her teacher at drama school) put forward her contralto soloist at the first installment (1833), and she soon established a reputation as a major artist. Under the leadership of Glinka, she has already learned and excellently transferred Vani role in "Life for the Tsar". Fascinated by her performance, Glinka wrote specially for her new scene at the monastery that became one of the winning moments of the Party. In "Ruslan and Ludmilla" Vorobyov created role of Ratmir. Other prominent her role - Adaldzhizy in "Norma" and Pippo in "The Thieving Magpie". In 1838, Mr.. she married the famous singer Petrova and began performing under the double name - Vorobieva-Petrova. In 1844, because of the sonority and the vastness of the lower register of its contralto, she was entrusted to men's role in the opera "I Puritani". In his old age, she is blind.
