Erakov Lev

(1839 - 1885) At the end of the course at the institute in 1860. reckoned to the institution as a tutor. In 1865, Mr.. was sent abroad to get acquainted with the state of the locomotive and general engineering business in Western Europe, as well as with mechanical devices on the railways. After his secondary trips abroad, in 1867, wrote a report on the World Exhibition in Paris ( "Journal of the Ministry of Transportation, 1867). In 1888. Erakov chosen extraordinary professor in the department of practical mechanics, and in the same year, he sends the car business in Germany. Strong construction of railways in Russia in the 60's and early 70-ies. gave him the opportunity to directly apply their knowledge to the case: many companies use his advice, mostly on the device and the choice of machinery and mechanical appliances. In 1871, Mr.. Erakov was appointed chief engineer of the rolling stock and traction St. Petersburg-Warsaw railway. In 1873, Mr.. Erakov elected full professor of the Institute, and in 1874,. leaves the service at the St. Petersburg-Warsaw railway. Continuing to engage in the institute, he has since been taking an active part in all major technical works of the Ministry of Railways on railway affairs. In 1884, appointed a member of the Board of the Ministry of Railways. The Institute Erakov lectured on the mechanics and steam locomotives. Published several pamphlets and articles, . mainly related to the hoisting of the railways: the steam output of tubular locomotive boilers; on the causes of tire failures, the cost of fuel locomotives; on calculations, . relating to the use of locomotives,
