Biography FERRET Leo V.

He graduated from Moscow University (1920), a disciple of AS Serebrovsky. In the late 20-ies. at the Central Station studied the genetic value of eggs of Drosophila as a possible model for signs of farm animals. Attended AS Serebrovsky to determine the size of the gene with recombination frequencies of the neighboring genes. He worked in the Animal Husbandry Institute, then in 1932-1933. - The Institute of Experimental Biology. Participated in the development problems of complicated structure of the gene in t.ch. scute alleles observed behavior under the influence of X-rays. In 1932, Mr.. arrested in 1933. exiled to the Tomsk region. In exile he worked on malaria entomologist stations, taught at the Tomsk Medical Institute and the Tomsk State University. Conducted research in applied entomology in 1940. defended his thesis "An analysis of polymorphism in males turuhtanov". In July 1944. L. Ferry, was invited to "talk" by the NKVD. As a result of a long conversation under the threat of arrest of his wife and daughter they were able to make him consent to cooperate with the authorities. The next day he committed suicide.
