Biography Kotelnikov Evlamy Nikiforovich
(about 1775 - about 1855). Was the captain, but for the passage of goods across the Austrian border demoted to the ranks. Participated in the wars of 1812 - 1814 period and again received the rank of Captain. While foreign campaign has studied French, German and Polish languages and acquired "knowledge of theology, geography, physics and poetry". In 1818 was "historical information about the Upper Kurmoyarskoy village" (published in "Readings of the Moscow Society of Russian History and Antiquities" for 1863, and separately, 1886, Novocherkassk). Influenced by the work of the Bible Society and works Boehm, Stilling and others wrote the "Appeal to the men of succession inner impulse of the Spirit of Christ" (St. Petersburg, 1820) and "The rudiments of God acute sickle in gold crown". The life and teachings of his followers, known duhonostsev, wore a mystical-ecstatic character. Fasting, prayer and vigil duhonostsy sought to achieve possession of extraordinary gifts of the Holy Spirit. By reaching to the state of ecstasy, they felt able to perform miracles, divined the thoughts of others, saw the picture of hell and heaven, considered themselves to have reached the highest perfection. The service performed by these men and women. As a result of denunciations in 1824 Kotelnikov was summon to St. Petersburg. His second book was considered heretical at first imposed the prohibition; with Nyquist has given the renunciation of errors and the obligation not to disseminate them. Returning home, Kotelnikov resumed preaching and was soon arrested.
