Biography Nentsky Marcellus Vilgelmovich
(1847 - 1901). Consisted professor of physiological chemistry at University of Bern. In 1891, Mr.. Nentsky was invited to St. Petersburg, where he took over assigned a physiological-chemical department of the Institute of Experimental Medicine. A number of studies, he devoted the study of transformations experienced in the animal organism different classes of organic compounds: hydrocarbons, acids, aromatic type, phenols, ketones, and t. d. Several of his works are the subject of study of the decay products of protein substances. However Sieber he produced work on the coloring matter of blood, this work has experimentally shown the link between the coloring matter of blood and bile. Valuable study Nentskogo devoted to clarify the function of the liver in the process of digestion. He also owns a number of important studies on bacteriology and organic chemistry related to cholera, diphtheria, plague, cattle and various other animal diseases. Work Nentskogo in organic chemistry are a derivative of uric acid, indole. However Sieber (cm. XVIII, 710) Nentsky gave a general method for obtaining oksiketonov of fatty acids and phenols. Equally important to all of the named branches of science are working Nentskogo concerning the processes of fermentation and putrefaction. A complete list of all the many works produced Nentskim personally and in collaboration with students, published in 1897, on the occasion of the twenty-fifth academic activities Nentskogo ( "Sommaire des travaux" enc., St. Petersburg, 1897). - See.
